Welcome to Living the Reclaimed Life Podcast. I'm Denisha, we're glad you're here for conversations that revive hope, inspire healing, and encourage you to live a vibrant life with Christ. So, grab a cup of coffee as we chat with today's guest.

You guys, how is it possible that we are already in mid-January? How crazy is that? Well, today I wanted to jump on and instead of having a guest, or instead of doing a teaching, I thought I would just share with you on something that God has really put on my heart as we enter 2022. And then I also want to share with you what to expect from season two coming up of living the reclaimed life, there are some great things coming. And we're super excited to sort of release those on as 2022 progresses. You know, when we began this year, our church does the first 21 days of the year, we do a time of corporate prayer and fasting. And it's really a great time just for the for all of us to just sort of focus our hearts and be postured to receive what God has. And if you know me, you will know that I am a planner, like a major planner. If I could ask God for like a five year plan for my family for this ministry, that would make me so happy, like in a three ring binder hole punched tabs to separate it all out. That is my just joy right there. Okay, you can you're imagining right now what my office looks like. But yes, I love binders and organization and long term plans. That just brings me security if I'm honest. And there's possibly some control in there, too. I don't know. Well, you know, we'll save that for another episode. But I like that I like to know what to expect. I like to know what's coming up. So as our church entered into these 21 days of prayer and fasting, I got like, giddy, okay. I thought this is going to be awesome. God, I want to know, like, you know, Lord, what do you have this year for our family? What do you have our ministry? Like? How can I partner with you in all the things right? And those are good things to ask of God. Like, I just want to say those are good things to ask of Him. And God relates to each one of us. So personally, is that amazing. And for me, he knows that I love to know the whole plant. And he also knows that if you were to release a five year plan to me, I would take it and run with it. And sometimes I would forget to go back to my source. And I would forget possibly to come back to God to be sure that I stay on track. Because once you give me a plan, I am out of the gate and running with it. Alright, so out of God's goodness and His grace and His knowing me personally, just as He knows you personally, he does not do that with me. He doesn't always give me the long term plan. And I appreciate that as much as I want it and desire it. Having a here's a couple of months at a time. Here's, you know, the course that you're going to chart for a short term, it keeps me coming back to his feet. It keeps me coming back to him for the next step. And that in my life is healthy. It's good to keep me coming back to him.

So, to go back to our church, we're starting this time of 21 days, right? And the first thing I thought being me being the planner, right? I'm like, Alright, Lord, I want to know what do you have for our family? What do you have for our ministry going into 2022? Like, let's do this. I want to hear what you have to say and then go and what I felt the Lord whisper back to me was not to seek what he has for me, but to just see his face. And I was reminded of Psalm 27 Eight and it's where David's has you know, my heart says of you seek His face and he responds, your face Lord, I will seek and so I thought, okay, Lord, I hear what you're saying. You're saying don't seek the plan I have but just seek Me. And you know, honestly, guys, I needed to hear that 2021 was such an adventure and we were going so fast in so many different directions with three kids and a business and ministry and it was just so busy right? So, I needed him to kind of press pause on my you know, go get it, achiever part of my personality, and just say stop, seek my face. So, I committed for the first 21 days of this year to not seek plans that he has, but to just seek Him. And it's ironic that the last podcast we put out at the very end of December, was all about that it was talking about living from God, versus living with God. See living from God says, God, I'm going to come to you and get all the things that I can get from you. Your plans, your intentions, your blessings. Living with God is a constant relationship, where we depend on him for our every need our every next step. And I thought it was interesting that God sort of took me personally into that place of saying, you're trying to live from me again, live with me. And so that was kind of my, I guess, entrance into 2022. And the Sunday that our church kicked off this time of prayer and fasting, the pastor gets up, and our pastor says, this is going to be a time of seeking the Lord's face. And guess what? He read Psalm 27, eight, and I almost fell off my chair, you guys, I thought, who keeps sending our pastors, my journal? Like, have you ever felt that way? The pastor opens their mouth on Sunday morning, and you think I was just thinking about that, or I just read that this week. And so that was one of those moments, like, who is videotaping my life and sending it to our pastors. I know, so many of us have felt that way. But that is that's sort of where we're at right now. We are seeking the Lord's face. And after that, we'll begin to see Kim for next steps for his intention on this year for both our family and this ministry. So, I wanted to share that with you. And I don't know if that resonates with you, if you're a planner, or maybe just in life that resonates. But I want to encourage you as we kick off 2022 To just see his face, just to see his face, and I promised friends, everything else will come with that. So, we are concluding Season One of living the reclaimed life. It has been such a fun year when we started back in March, I had no idea what I was doing with podcasting, and I still have a ton to learn. But you guys have been so faithful, so faithful to listen, so faithful to share, we thank you so much for when you rate and review on Apple, or I hear Spotify now is doing reviews, thank you so much for reviewing. And that really helps us to get this content out to more people. And we hope that as you have heard people stories this last year, and you have heard how God has reclaimed their story and how they are living that reclaimed life, we hope that it has encouraged you and that their victory can also be a victory in your story too, because we serve the same God. And that is our hope that it would bring hope and healing to your story. And when you email us when you reach out and say, wow, that episode really touched my heart. That is where I'm at. We thank you for that. And we don't take that privilege lightly to walk with you as God reclaims your story. So, thank you for reaching out to us. You know, I had an email recently that asked me what is the deal with the word reclaimed? And I kind of giggled because I thought yeah, that is it is a different word, right? When we think of reclaimed, we think of water, right? Like don't drink the water at the park, if it says it's reclaimed, because that's just gross. And we think of wood, we think of wood that has been repurposed for something beautiful, reclaimed wood. And a few years ago, and if you're interested in hearing more about my story, part of my story is God really used the word reclaimed in my heart and begin to speak to me about he was reclaiming parts of my story that had been wounded and hurt. And I share more about that. It was an episode 37 with Patty Lynn Wyatt, but the word reclaimed means to rescue from an undesirable state and to restore to a previous natural state. And God is in the business of reclaiming you guys. He is in the business of rescuing and restoring our stories. I mean, that is the narrative, right? From Genesis to Revelation. And so that is, that's where reclaimed came in. It was from just a private moment with the Lord, where he began to whisper to me that I was safe with him that he wanted to reclaim parts of my story that I had locked away and that I didn't want to, to go into I didn't want to journey there with him and he let me know that it was safe, and that he was going to rescue and restore those parts of my story. So that's where the word reclaimed comes from. And I want to talk a little bit about in our time today about season two, we are coming up on season two of living the reclaimed life. And I'm so excited. And we are going to be launching that on February 7. So, check back here on February 7, we'll be launching new content with a new stories and teachings. And this next year, we're going to dive a little bit more into how to how to heal from our past trauma. And that is something that I've personally been studying and getting certified in. And so, I want to share some of those things as we go along. So, we'll have some teachings. And we'll also have some amazing interviews and guests on the show as well.
